Starting a project online is not easy and people's lives will get in the way. I have taken away how it is important to be accommodating but realistic. So I created a team charter to set expectations and everyone agreed to the flow of communication and work.
Bringing new software to a team that has never used it can be difficult. The team may not adapt or use the software. I have grown my ability to be flexible and created a new task tracking solution that my team felt more comfortable using.
Redesigning and making final decisions is a task that felt intimidating at first. I knew what needed to be fixed and I brought it up with my team. I was intimidated to make the final calls but my team supported my choices and agreed with me. This grew my confidence as a leader and as a teammate.
Our Indie Origin
My team fell in love with this game when we made it in our early college career. We received so much love in person but we had more prototypes to make and my team and I thought this project was done. To our surprise after 3 years of no updates, no posts and bugs still not addressed our game was still receiving clicks and plays. Our current game's analytics sit at over 4,000 page views, over 2,400 plays and has been added to over 100 collections. The game still averages 2 - 3 views to this day.
It was extremely hard for us to ignore the potential for this game and it was hard for us to ignore our love for the Dragons waiting to be dated. After settling into post grad I formed the original team with a little extra help and established the Dragonerds! We are a team of 9 extremely excited to bring a new and improved version of How to Date a Dragon to its current and future dragonerds!
